Our Local Winter Farmer’s Market in Tilton NH
You know how in the middle of winter, you’d do almost anything for a vine ripened, sun warmed tomato? Well, guess what, it’s easier and closer than you dreamed. New Englanders being resourceful types, came up with a solution. It just makes sense to enjoy the harvest all year round.
Local Coffee Roasters
All over New England, Winter Farmers Markets are springing up.
It’s a Very Popular Place to be !
Locally, we have an indoor Farmers’ Market to break up the long cold winter season, with dozens of regular vendors. The variety is amazing. I attended last weekend and was awed, to say the least. The Winter Farmers’ Market in Tilton NH had over 1500 visitors during the 4 hours it was open the week previous! It is open every Saturday in January, February and March, from 10 am to 2 pm.
These are some of the wonderful products and experiences available there:Baked goods of all sorts; breads, pastries and pies galore. Homemade ice cream, cheese and baked beans in abundance. Soups and chowders, fresh seafood, fudge, cookies, jams, farm fresh sausages and greenhouse ripened tomatoes. There were fresh greens raised in row covers, hand made soaps and candles and live music.
New England Wines
A hands-on demonstration of wood working with antique hand tools and wooden spoon carving were well underway. Face painting, teas, maple products, hand-dyed and spun yarn, pet products and composting worms. This is just the beginning!
Local Maple Products
Everywhere you look, a delight awaits your eyes. Every color of the rainbow in the known food world greets you. All the senses are satisfied as fragrant aromas pervade the atmosphere and samples of many of the offerings are available for tasting and trying.
